YOGA CLASSES (DROP-IN)

At OhmSantih Yoga, we offer affordable yoga classes in Singapore for all levels ranging from beginner to intermediate and advanced practitioners but these are not the typical yoga lessons you will find out there! That is indeed a big claim, isn’t it? Try one class and you will instantly agree.

Our Vinyasa flow sequences are based fundamentally on Ashtanga Yoga as well as Hatha Yoga poses. In our yoga lessons in Singapore, there are 5 wonderful flavors (flow sequences) for you to choose from and there are 2 levels for each flow (Level 1 – Beginner, and Level 2 – Intermediate). The flows are namely ‘The Hip flow’, ‘The Shoulder flow’, ‘The Core Flow’, ‘The Legs Flow’, and ‘The Back & Spine Flow’. Each flow yoga class is designed to support practitioners of all experience levels and to provide yoga classes in Singapore that fit the body’s unique and ever-changing needs.

Each sequence is structured to challenge the strength and flexibility of the body – by using a series of postures, one will learn the art of synchronizing each movement with each breath, in a continual flow, therefore creating an internal heat that aids in the detoxification of the body and mind.

Each session of our yoga classes in Singapore begins with Pranayama, which is commonly known as a breathing exercise to create awareness and emphasize the importance of effective breathing, which is also the basis of Yoga. The session will roll on with simple joint mobilization stretches, followed by a series of standing, seated, and floor poses and savasana (commonly known as relaxation exercise) at the end of the class for complete relaxation of body and mind. In our yoga lessons in Singapore, the poses used in each sequence are strategically arranged in a well-thought order to provide maximum improvements without over-straining one’s body. This effect is achieved on the basis of strengthening the opposing muscles while executing the poses. Opposing muscles are sets of muscles that work together to assist you in achieving a pose and if these muscles are strengthened together, it creates a balance between the opposites, which is of great importance to see fast and lasting improvements and as well as to prevent injuries.

For e.g. After doing a plank pose to strengthen the abdominals, the flow will lead you to an upward dog/ cobra pose to strengthen the back.

With a small class size of not more than 12 students/class, you will gradually but surely see a great improvement in your body and most importantly achieve the objective of Yoga in Singapore, which is a balance of body and mind.

Last but not at least, the teachers at OhmSantih Yoga take great pride in creating a wonderful and non-competitive environment for you to build foundations for your practice. During our yoga lessons in Singapore, you will feel at ease and comfortable under the close supervision of our very dedicated and nurturing teachers, just like a ‘second home’.
